On a spur of the moment whim we decided to leave city lights behind us and meteor gaze at Joshua Tree instead. We threw everyone (and the dog!) in the car and managed to arrive with enough time to mess around on the rocks for a bit. Here are 5 minutes of our shenanigans …susan keller family takes on joshua tree-1susan keller family takes on joshua tree-2susan keller family takes on joshua tree-3susan keller family takes on joshua tree-4susan keller family takes on joshua tree-5susan keller family takes on joshua tree-6susan keller family takes on joshua tree-7susan keller family takes on joshua tree-8susan keller family takes on joshua tree-9susan keller family takes on joshua tree-10susan keller family takes on joshua tree-11

Hello world!

Welcome to a new little adventure for me!

Awhile ago, I started a personal project that I called ‘The 5 Minute Project’. I took 5 minutes out of my life, picked up my camera and documented what was in front of me for 5 minutes. Then, I would edit the favourites and post them on my family’s blog Pughville.com. You can find my own 5 Minute series there.

It’s a funny thing because I would watch all these people start 365 projects and think to myself ‘I should do that’, but the truth is I’ve never been good at longevity. I could manage to do it for maybe 5 days and then I would peter out. I decided I needed a project I could manage. No stress. No ‘everyday’ rule. Freedom to explore in 5 minutes. Freedom to share whatever I wanted from those 5 minutes. All the images. One of the images. None of the images. Audio. Video. Stills. Freedom.

Shortly after I started, people asked me if I would mind if they participated in their own 5 Minute Project. I promised that I would create a way to share their projects as well. Maybe a list of links on my family blog. Maybe a Facebook page. Maybe…just maybe a blog. And, so here it is. I am making no promises of daily posts. But, I will be asking some of my friends to play along. And, I’ll share their ‘projects’. If you would like to apply to play along, please fill out the contact page with a link to your own website/blog and I’ll get back to you about how to participate.

For now, one of my favourite 5 Minutes with Georgia.
